The trick in a nutshell
You cast a spell over the goblet… and the ball mysteriously vanishes!
How the trick works
- Assemble the components in the order shown in the video.
- At the same time, lift the cup’s lid and the hemispherical cover to show the audience the ball inside.
- Remove the ball, show it to the audience, then put it in your pocket.
- Cover the cup with the lid featuring the hidden hemispherical cap and cast the spell. Say to the audience: Now, using magic, I will make the ball return from my pocket to the cup!
- Lift only the outer lid, leaving the hemispherical cover in the cup. At this point, the audience can see only the hemispherical cover.
- Cover the cup again and cast a new spell.
- Now lift the cup’s lid and the hemispherical cover at the same time – the ball has truly vanished before the audience’s eyes!
- Say to the audience: “And now the ball returns to my pocket.” Then take out the ball you had previously hidden and show it to the audience as proof of your magical powers.
