Before you watch this video, have a look at the instructions or read the description below — they contain the secrets that will help you master the trick. Remember, the real magic lies in the details!

Preparing the trick

To perform the trick, you will need the deck of cards included in the set. Before you begin the performance, it is worth familiarising yourself thoroughly with the mechanism of the card trick (‘Trapeze’), described in the enclosed printed instructions. Before each trick, make sure that all the cards in the deck are facing the same way. Take the four jacks out of the deck, turn them 180 degrees and put them back into the deck.

Performance

  1. Fan out all the cards and present them to the spectator, allowing them to see that all the cards are in the deck. To enhance the effect, you can shuffle the cards in front of them or — even better — ask them to shuffle the deck thoroughly themselves.
  2. Then take the deck behind your back and, guided solely by your fingertips, locate the four jacks by their characteristically protruding edges. Discreetly remove them and tuck them into your back trouser pocket, ensuring the movement looks natural and does not arouse suspicion. Bring the deck back in front of you, make a dramatic, ‘magical’ gesture over it… and announce with a smile that all the jacks have vanished.
  3. Spread the cards out to prove your point, and then — as the grand finale — reach into your pocket and pull out the four missing jacks, presenting them to the audience.
