Preparing the trick
To perform the trick, you will need the deck of cards included in the set. Before you begin the performance, it is worth familiarising yourself thoroughly with the mechanism of the card trick (‘Trapeze’), described in the enclosed printed instructions. Before each trick, make sure that all the cards in the deck are facing the same way. Take the four aces out of the deck, turn them 180 degrees and put them back into the deck.
Performance
- Fan out all the cards and present them to the spectator.
- To enhance the effect, you can shuffle the deck in front of them or — even better — let them shuffle it themselves. Then take the deck behind your back and, using your fingertips, locate the four aces by their characteristically protruding edges. Discreetly remove them and place them on top of the deck. Bring the deck back in front of you, make a dramatic, ‘magical’ gesture over it… and then reveal the top four cards. It turns out they are four aces — the audience is sure to be delighted!
