The trick in a nutshell
Using a few dice, a piece of paper and a pen, you’ll show that you can predict the result of an addition problem faster than a calculator!
Preparing the trick
Get a piece of paper, a pen and a mobile phone or calculator ready.
The performance
- Ask a spectator to roll four dice onto the table.
- Arrange the dice side by side on the table using the front-to-back method. Quickly write down the sum of the four rows of numbers on the piece of paper.
- Let the spectator calculate the sum of the four rows using a mobile phone or calculator, then compare their result with the one you wrote down earlier. It should be the same.
- Amaze the spectator by showing that you can calculate the result faster than a calculator!
